Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine  (DFLP) Condemns US Arrest Warrant Against Cuban Leader Raúl Castro

The Department of External Relations of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) condemned the latest US aggression against Cuba, represented by the issuance of an arrest warrant against Cuban and internationalist leader and former Cuban President Raúl Castro by a US court in the state of Florida. The Department described this move as an act of political and legal aggression targeting the sovereignty of an independent state and constituting a flagrant interference in its internal affairs.
The Department affirmed that the United States continues to entrench a logic of arrogance and hegemony in its handling of various international issues by imposing its domestic laws as a frame of reference that takes precedence over international law, in clear violation of the principles of national sovereignty and equality among states. This measure comes within the broader context of a longstanding US policy manifested in the blockade imposed on Cuba, aggression against Venezuela and the arrest of its legitimate president, as well as interference in the internal affairs of other countries. These actions reflect a deliberate disregard for international legitimacy and its institutions.
The Department stressed that, through its aggressive policies, the US administration is undermining any credibility in its claims to defend the rule of law, democracy and human rights. This is particularly evident in its targeting of the International Criminal Court and its judges, as well as the International Court of Justice in connection with the case brought before it concerning the commission of genocide against the Palestinian people by Israel, and in its attempts to bring international institutions under the control of its political interests.
Reaffirming the DFLP’s solidarity with the Cuban leadership and people in confronting the US blockade and pressure, the Department called on the countries of the world and international organizations to condemn this act of aggression and take practical steps to halt it. It warned that international silence encourages impunity, threatens international peace and stability, and undermines the international legal order.
