The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine emphasized the need to make efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire, a complete Israeli withdrawal, the provision of unconditional aid to the Gaza Strip, a prisoner exchange, and the establishment of a national body to manage affairs in the Gaza Strip under the authority of the PLO, within the framework of the unity of Palestinian territory, and to take the necessary measures to begin the reconstruction process, in accordance with the Egyptian-Arab plan.
In the same context, the Democratic Front called for a national dialogue at the highest levels, involving the general secretaries, the Executive Committee, and other agreed-upon national figures, to discuss the points in US President Trump›s plan, formulate a unified national position on it, and establish a negotiating team representing the PLO to address outstanding national issues, including the future of the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. The DFLP also called for the Palestinian people to exercise their right to establish a democratic political system that reflects their national interests through free, fair, and transparent presidential and parliamentary elections based on full proportional representation, and to exercise their right to self-determination and establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, free from any foreign tutelage or interference, and to resolve the refugee issue in accordance with Resolution 194, which guarantees their right to return to their homes and properties from which they were expelled in 1948.
