In a statement, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine welcomed the positions taken by Arab and Muslim leaders who met with US President Trump to discuss the Palestinian issue and the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Arab and Muslim leaders highlighted the appalling and unacceptable situation in the Gaza Strip, including the humanitarian catastrophe, the heavy human toll, and the serious consequences for the region and the entire Muslim world. They also reiterated their shared stance opposing forced displacement and the need to allow those who have left to return.
The leaders also emphasized the need to end the war, with an immediate ceasefire, to ensure the release of hostages, and to allow sufficient humanitarian aid to enter, as a first step towards a just and lasting peace.
The Arab and Muslim leaders emphasized the need to develop a plan to achieve stability, while ensuring the stability of the West Bank and the holy sites in Jerusalem.
The participants also emphasized the need for a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, based on the plans of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and expressed their commitment to working together to ensure the success of these plans and to rebuild Palestinian life in Gaza.
The Democratic Front concluded by emphasizing the need to develop political and diplomatic strategies and mechanisms in all areas, in order to translate these positions into concrete action on the ground. This action should contribute to advancing the Palestinian cause towards national liberation, starting with the immediate cessation of the war of extermination in Gaza, the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces, the lifting of the blockade, the opening of the crossings, and the unrestricted flow of all forms of aid.
