DFLP: Condemns Rubios anti-Palestinian state statements

Sep 25, 2025

In a statement, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the statements made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, which it described as a blatant act of hostility towards international recognition of the Palestinian state. The statement also criticized Rubio›s claim that a Palestinian state could only be established through negotiations with and the consent of Israel.
The Democratic Front stated that Rubio, with his disgraceful statement, violates Resolution 181, which recognized our people›s right to establish their state on their own land, and Resolution 19/67, which recognized the State of Palestine as an observer member of the United Nations. Furthermore, it constitutes an insult to and a disregard for the international community, and a blatant demonstration of the isolation that the United States is experiencing during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. During this session, the vast majority of the world stood with our people, as evidenced by the numerous recognitions of the State of Palestine and the calls, made by world leaders from the General Assembly podium, for an end to the Israeli genocide against our people, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the occupied Palestinian territories, and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Democratic Front added: «Senator Rubio, his ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, and his president in the White House never miss an opportunity to express their despicable hatred towards our people and their legitimate national rights, as well as their contempt for international law and its rulings. They constantly try to impose the will of the United States on the international community, failing to realize that the world, with the awakening of its peoples and their determination to uphold their national dignity, has dismantled the unipolar system that the United States once dominated. During that period, the US instigated wars in various parts of the world, particularly in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, and of course, Palestine.»
The Democratic Front concluded by emphasizing that when our people made their decision on November 15, 1988, to declare the establishment of their independent Palestinian state, they did not seek permission from the United States or Israel, and that they are firmly committed to this path and will never seek such permission.
