In a statement, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine called on the United Nations and the international community to take seriously the warnings of health circles in the Gaza Strip about the dangers of the specter of the coronavirus pandemic, which appears to threaten thousands of residents, including children, women, and the elderly, in light of the lack of antibiotics, medicines, and necessary treatment methods, amid a tight siege imposed by Israeli fascism on our steadfast people.
The Democratic Front said: Reports coming from the Gaza Strip confirm that the scarcity of food supplies, the lack of healthy food, the deterioration of services, especially clean water, and the accumulation of garbage throughout the Strip are all factors that have led to the emergence of the Corona pandemic. This requires the international community, especially the United Nations and its Security Council, to assume humanitarian, political, and legal responsibility to confront this pandemic, which threatens not only the Gaza Strip but also threatens to spread to neighboring areas.
The Democratic Front said: Our people in the Gaza Strip are fighting today against death on three fronts: killing by Israeli gunfire, death at the hands of the Israeli siege, and the coronavirus pandemic, which is the result of a severely deteriorating health situation.
