In response to Smotrich›s plan to tear apart the West Bank
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) called in a statement today to respond to Smotrich›s project to tear apart the West Bank, strangle the city of Jerusalem, and eliminate the most important components of the Palestinian state represented by the land, by declaring the sovereignty of the Palestinian state over all its occupied territories, with Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967, and to build on this historic entitlement with a set of legal, political, and field steps, and in accordance with the duties dictated by the national situation to protect the national project, defeat the project of the Talmudic State of Israel, and protect every inch of our Palestinian land.
In this context:
• The Democratic Front calls for declaring Israel an enemy state, violating the national sovereignty of our people over their land, and violating international law and international legitimacy resolutions that guarantee our people their full right to freedom and self-determination, and to establish their independent, fully sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Democratic Front affirms that this requires, first, a reconsideration of the relationship with the occupying state, the enemy of our people, and the withdrawal of recognition of it until it recognizes the independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, the right of return for refugees, the release of Palestinian prisoners as prisoners of war and national fighters for the freedom of their homeland and the preservation of the independence of their state, and the cessation of all forms of settlement and annexation.
• The Democratic Front stresses the need to stop all forms of security coordination with the occupying state, as it contradicts the principles of national sovereignty over the land of the Palestinian state and its defense, and to reformulate the security and combat doctrine of the Palestinian Authority’s security services, which requires them to defend the Palestinian land and the Palestinian citizen, in the face of the hostile actions of the occupation army and the settler gangs organized into armed factions, in a cohesion of the security services with the people and their struggle movement and popular resistance by all means to the Israeli occupation, with all its military, settlement, and other manifestations.
• The necessity of issuing a national declaration to boycott Israeli goods and replace them with national alternatives, or those from sister and friendly countries, prohibiting dealing with Israeli goods, and exposing violators to legal accountability.
• Forming popular resistance factions and committees under the supervision of the National Leadership of Popular Resistance, in cooperation with the relevant Palestinian Authority security services, and providing them with the necessary supplies to confront and deter attacks by settler gangs, and defend the land and interests of farmers and peasants.
• Calling on the Arab countries at the highest levels to support and back the Palestinian national decision to declare the sovereignty of the State of Palestine over its land, including withdrawing Arab ambassadors from Israel, expelling its ambassadors from Arab capitals, and severing all political, economic, cultural, financial, and other relations, considering it a state that is attacking the sovereignty of a sister Arab state, a member of the League of Arab States, which is Palestine.
• Requesting a Security Council meeting to discuss the Palestinian situation based on a complaint from the State of Palestine, and demanding that the Security Council assume its legal, political and moral responsibilities to support and back the State of Palestine and assist it in recovering every inch of its land from the hands of the occupation. In the event of a clash with the American veto, requesting that the issue be transferred to the United Nations General Assembly as an opportunity for countries to fulfill their promises by recognizing the State of Palestine.
• Demanding the isolation of the State of Israel and the suspension of its membership in the United Nations, as it is a rogue state, rebelling against international law, and obstructing the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions, especially Security Council Resolutions 2334 (2016) and General Assembly Resolution 19/67 of 2012.
Accordingly, Israel was expelled from all international agencies and organizations, as well as global parliamentary, cultural, media, and trade union institutions, and economic sanctions were imposed on it.
The Democratic Front stressed that this strategic move is the way to confront the real danger that continues to escalate, threatening the future of the national project, stressing in the same context that the policy of betting on external factors and on promises has clearly proven its failure, and that the field resistance of the people and their political forces, by joining forces with the institutions of the Authority and the PLO, within the framework of a comprehensive national plan for confrontation, is the way to achieve legitimate national rights.
