DFLP: The fate and future of our people are not subject to laboratory experiments, and their right to self-determination on their own land is a sacred right

Aug 12, 2025

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) affirmed in a statement today that the fate of our Palestinian people in the territories occupied in 1967, in the West Bank (and at its heart, Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip, is not a subject for experiments in political laboratories in Western capitals. It also affirmed that their right to self-determination on their land, to establish their independent, fully sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, and to resolve the refugee issue in accordance with Resolution 194, which guarantees their right to return to the homes and properties from which they were displaced since 1948, is a sacred right, not subject to manipulation or interpretation by changing its legal content, as recognized by international legitimacy, especially Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016) and UN General Assembly Resolution 19/67 (2012).
The Democratic Front called on Western circles to stop turning our people›s cause, particularly in the Gaza Strip, into a testing ground, governed by a sense of superiority and colonialism that still lurks in the consciousness of a number of Western capitals, including the United States and Europe.
The Democratic Front emphasized that resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip is not a puzzle, nor is it a subject manipulated by colonial ambitions and the overwhelming desire of Western countries to interfere in the affairs of emerging peoples.
The Democratic Front stressed that the solution in the Gaza Strip lies in the immediate cessation of the war of genocide and starvation, the immediate withdrawal of the occupation army from the entire Gaza Strip, breaking the siege, opening the crossings wide to allow the flow of humanitarian and life-saving aid, including food, water, medicine, sanitation, and decent shelter supplies, transporting sick and critically injured people for treatment abroad, providing mechanisms to search for the bodies of martyrs and missing persons under the rubble, dismantling the «American Death for Food Company,» supervising the distribution of aid by international and humanitarian Agencies, especially UNRWA, and restoring the conditions of the torn society in Gaza, providing the necessary atmosphere for our people to determine their own destiny in the Strip, including choosing who will manage their affairs from among the national actors, launching the Egyptian-Arab reconstruction workshop in cooperation with Cairo, based on the decisions of the emergency Arab summit, and providing the atmosphere for a democratic process through the ballot box to choose a Palestinian government that will be responsible for managing public affairs in the West Bank and Gaza under the supervision of the PLO, the sole legitimate representative of our people.
