In a statement, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine called on the Arab countries, in cooperation with the European Union countries, to assume their political, moral and legal responsibilities towards the people of the Gaza Strip, who are suffering from hunger, malnutrition, exhaustion, thirst, and a lack of water and medicine, which has turned the Strip into a place of daily death, under the eyes and ears of the world, and in light of a state of impotence that has allowed the occupying state to commit crimes and declare a blatant challenge to the international will and the principles of international and international humanitarian law, and in light of blatant support from the American administration, which has not stopped issuing false promises to stop the war and death in the Strip.
The Democratic Front said: The group of Arab countries possesses the elements of pressure and influential action that enable it to carry out the required role, in cooperation with the international community, especially the European Union, to put an end to the policy of death that is sweeping the Gaza Strip, children, women and the elderly, in scenes that break the hearts of humanity. The failure to activate these elements of power raises dozens of question marks before our people, about the truth of the Arab positions and claims, and the decisions of the Arab summits, about the position of the Palestinian cause and its place in Arab political calculations, and about the truth of the sense of humanitarian, fraternal and moral responsibility towards our people, as they suffer the scourges of the siege and daily killing.
The Democratic Front added: “The European Union, in turn, possesses elements of strength no less important than the Arab elements, especially since the European Union is the occupying state’s main trade partner, and is bound to it by covenants related to human rights and their respect, which enables it to impose its will on Israel, deter it, and compel it to open the crossings and allow the entry of aid as a minimum step to put an end to the suffering of women and children, in response to the Palestinian people’s right to a livelihood and to preserve their human dignity.”
The Democratic Front concluded: «Human history records the facts of the humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip, and at the same time monitors the positions of all parties, especially the active ones that have the ability to intervene and put an end to this tragedy. History is unforgiving.
