The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated: Our people in all their locations feel a great disappointment after the European Union›s failure to agree on 10 proposed measures to punish Israel for its crimes against our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The Democratic Front said: The failure of EU Foreign Ministers to vote on the proposed measures confirms, on one hand, the double standards of some European capitals, whose colonial roots still dictate their policies, and which are still subject to Israeli blackmail under the pretext of «anti-Semitism». Others are still subject to US pressure, which has given the Israeli fascist government a free hand to wreak havoc in the region under the slogan of «re-engineering the Middle East» to become a region under complete US domination.
The proposals that EU ministers failed to approve included suspending the cooperation agreement between Israel and the EU, limiting trade relations, imposing sanctions on Israeli ministers, imposing an arms embargo, and stopping visa-free travel to the EU.
The Democratic Front concluded: The US-Israeli cooperation has succeeded in preventing EU Foreign Ministers from reaching an agreement on even one of the punitive measures against Israel.
The Democratic Front called on Arab countries, especially those with multiple relations with European countries, to make their stance on the Palestinian issue and Israel›s crimes against our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank a benchmark for bilateral and collective Arab-European relations.
