A Letter from the Department of Foreign Affairs at the Democratic Front to Global Political Parties and Societal Frameworks:The Politics of Hypocrisy and Lies Renewed to Justify the Israeli-American Aggression Against Iran

Jun 24, 2025

Dear Leaders of Global Political Parties,
Dear Friends in International Institutions and Societal Frameworks,
Greetings and regards,
We send you this message concerning the Israeli aggression against Iran, which comes after decades of incitement by American-Zionist propaganda aimed at justifying a large-scale assault on Iran based on misleading and false information—similar to what occurred in Iraq over 20 years ago, and more recently to justify the genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Military deception is sometimes part of war strategies aimed at misleading the enemy, and it can be acceptable under international law as long as it abides by humanitarian rules and does not involve treachery. Some countries have even won wars thanks to deception. However, waging wars that destroy nations and kill thousands based on lies—deliberately used for political ends—is something the world must confront, holding perpetrators accountable and ensuring such tragedies are not repeated.
There are many examples showing that countries have resorted to lies to justify unjust wars. Some even obtained UN Security Council resolutions based on false and misleading data. Currently, there are three significant examples whose tragic consequences we still endure:
• Iraq (2002–2003): The U.S. presented dozens of claims to the world and the UN, stating that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and posed a threat to global security. Evidence was shown to the Security Council, including alleged nuclear weapons. After the U.S. invaded Iraq, it was revealed that all the information had been false—no WMDs were ever found.
• Al-Aqsa Flood Operation (2023): The U.S. announced an international coalition against Palestinian resistance based on Israeli claims of atrocities committed by Palestinians, including the burning of children, rape of women, and beheadings. President Biden later admitted his information came from Israeli sources and a call with Netanyahu. Weeks later, it was confirmed these accusations were lies aimed at justifying war on Gaza and securing Western support.
• UNRWA Accusations (2023–2024): Israel accused Palestinian UNRWA staff of participating in the Al-Aqsa Flood, leading the U.S. and several European countries to suspend or condition funding to UNRWA. Despite multiple independent investigations by the UN and UNRWA finding no evidence, the agency remains a target of U.S.-Israeli campaigns—again based on proven falsehoods.
Now, the same pattern is repeating with the Israeli-American aggression against Iran. The assault is based on unverified claims about Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities. Ironically, Israel launched its surprise attack just as Iranian and American parties were preparing for renewed negotiations. Encouraged by a recent resolution from the IAEA Board of Governors (June 12), which accused Iran of non-compliance with nuclear non-proliferation commitments, Israel found its pretext.
In two contradictory statements following the resolution, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi first said Iran had enough nuclear material for several warheads. But after the aggression began, he admitted there was «no evidence of a systematic effort by Iran to develop nuclear weapons.» Iran, in response, labeled the IAEA a «partner» in the Israeli war, stating that Grossi’s belated acknowledgment exposed the agency’s role as a tool manipulated by the U.S. and European troika, giving Israel a pretext for aggression against peaceful Iranian nuclear facilities.
The international community’s failure to hold Israel accountable for its crimes against Palestinians has emboldened it to attack Iran—and previously Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. This reveals that global indifference to what›s happening in Gaza, the West Bank, and the region further empowers Zionist fascism, threatening not only the Palestinian people but all the world’s nations.
As we affirm our support for Iran and stand with it against Israeli-American aggression, we believe Iran will not only withstand this assault but that the aggression will ultimately fail. People across the region are convinced that the goal of aggression—whether in Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, or now Iran—is one: to impose U.S.-Israeli domination, in line with their strategic objective to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
Let us not forget: Israel, not Iran, is the only real threat to regional populations. It possesses a vast nuclear arsenal. Did we forget when Netanyahu’s Heritage Minister called for dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza—a clear admission that Israel possesses nuclear weapons? Yet Western countries (France, Germany, the UK) issued no harsh condemnations or called for Israel to be disarmed. But when it comes to Iran, even on mere accusations, they act decisively to prevent peaceful nuclear energy use.
Meanwhile, Israel has never allowed the IAEA to even discuss its nuclear facilities. The EU never placed Israel’s arsenal on any agenda, unlike Iran. The logical conclusion: if the U.S. and Western countries are genuinely concerned about non-proliferation, the same standards must apply to Israel. The region should be free of all nuclear weapons. But the double standards we witness reflect a desire to disarm the region entirely—except Israel, which must remain militarily superior and act as the region’s police force and enforcer of U.S.-led global imperialism.
Despite possessing over 200 nuclear warheads, Israel remains unchecked. Iran, on the other hand, has repeatedly stated it does not seek nuclear weapons and has the right to peaceful nuclear energy for its modernization efforts—efforts that are independent and sovereign. The U.S. exploits the nuclear issue as a pretext to maintain sanctions and pressure on Iran for its support of the Palestinian cause and resistance against Israeli occupation.
Palestinians and regional peoples today pay the price for Netanyahu and America’s failure to achieve their goals in the war against Palestinians—especially in Gaza. They also suffer from Netanyahu’s internal political crises, which fuel Israel’s aggressive tactics. Amid global power struggles, the U.S. seeks to maintain dominance or, at the very least, secure a strong foothold in the emerging new world order, while giving Israel a pivotal role in any regional arrangement under this order.
Netanyahu’s aim is to ride the war on Gaza and the region into the 2026 Israeli parliamentary elections. This is why Israel rushed into war with Iran. The real objectives go beyond the nuclear file. Netanyahu clearly stated: “The path is now open to strike Iran to change the face of the Middle East”—a project to impose imperialist domination through Israel over the peoples of the region and enslave them.
Therefore, we say: the peoples of the region and all freedom-loving people worldwide must work to thwart the objectives of the U.S.-Israeli-Western war on Iran and condemn this aggression. We are confident that the future belongs to the region’s people. Regardless of the current power balance, they will reshape it, for the land remains loyal to those rooted in it for thousands of years. History and liberation movements teach us: no matter the arrogance of occupiers or the scale of violence, they are destined for defeat. Victory always sides with free peoples defending their land, their rights, and their futures—far from dependency and enslavement.
