DFLP: Our people are not an unnecessary number in the region, and they have a history and civilization that extends back thousands of years

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine commented on White House Secretary of State Marco Rubio›s statements before congressional committees, saying: Our people are not an unnecessary number in the region, but rather have a history and civilization that stretches back thousands of years, and they do not need to seek a place to seek refuge. Their homeland is Palestine, it is their home and refuge, and they will not accept any alternative.
Rubio had indicated in his speech before Congress that Washington had offered to several Arab countries to «host» approximately one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
The Democratic Front stressed that our people, in all their groups and wherever they reside, reject displacement from the 1948 territories, the West Bank (including Jerusalem), and the Gaza Strip. They also reject the resettlement of approximately 6 million refugees, who are victims of Partition Resolution 181 and the collusion of some countries and capitals with the Zionist project that led to the 1948 Nakba.
The Democratic Front stressed that the search for security and stability for the region will remain a futile and failed nonsense if it is not based on the recognition of our people’s right to self-determination, freedom, and liberation from occupation and settlement, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty on the borders of June 4, 1967, and the resolution of the refugee issue in accordance with Resolution 194, which guarantees their right to return to the homes and properties from which they were displaced since 1948
