A Message from the «Department of Foreign Relations of the Democratic Front» Regarding Israel’s Ban on Entry Visas for Dozens of Parliamentary, Political Figures and Human Rights Activists

Apr 25, 2025

To the esteemed leaders of global parties and parliamentary institutions,
To the respected representatives of international social and community frameworks,
Greetings from wounded Palestine, which remains subjected to an ongoing genocidal war on the land of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank at the hands of Israeli fascism. This fascism has launched a brutal war that has exceeded the boundaries of Palestine to target all free voices who defend what remains of humanity, and those who sympathize with the children and women of Palestine fleeing the inferno of Israeli bombardment—of whom over 70% are among the martyrs, 69% among the wounded, and 70% remain missing.
To cover up the daily crimes it commits against the Palestinian people, Israel and its various institutions continue to pursue every free voice that criticizes these criminal practices. Among these actions are the campaigns of denial and prohibition that have targeted parliamentarians, politicians, and activists. However, the recent decision to ban 27 French MPs and officials from entering the entity’s territory is not the first of its kind. Israel has a long-standing history of hostility toward international institutions and figures because of their stances on Israel.
Israel’s arrogance and audacity reached a new level when its delegate to the United Nations tore up the UN Charter on the podium of the international organization and publicly called for the complete erasure of the United Nations building from the face of the earth (2024). Yet, despite this, the international system took no action against him—encouraging Israel to continue its campaign against all international institutions and figures.
Within just a short period (only one year), Israel issued dozens of decisions preventing international officials and organizations from entering Israel. For example:
• In July 2024, Israel banned the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories from entering the country. Nevertheless, the United Nations Human Rights Council recently extended her mandate for an additional three years.
• In October 2024, Israel banned the Secretary-General of the United Nations from entering, with Prime Minister Netanyahu describing the world’s top international organization as “a swamp of antisemitism.”
• In August 2024, Israel refused to grant the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs a visa due to his calls for imposing sanctions on Israeli ministers responsible for crimes committed in the West Bank.
• In February 2025, two female members of the European Parliament were denied entry into the entity’s territory, even though they were part of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Palestine. The reason: their criticism of Israel during its war on Gaza.
• Similarly, in April 2025, two British MPs, also part of an official delegation from the British Parliament, were banned from entering Israel.
• Two female members of the European Parliament were denied entry into the entity›s territory, despite being part of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Palestine, due to their criticism of Israel during its war on the Gaza Strip (February 2025). Two British MPs were also denied entry into Israel, even though they were part of an official delegation from the British Parliament (April 2025).

In addition to banning dozens of figures and activists from various countries around the world — in the fields of human rights, media, and politics — from entering the entity, under the pretext that they pose a danger to society, the real and direct reason lies in their positions regarding the criminal acts committed by the Israeli army against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. These acts constitute documented war crimes, which the occupation attempts to cover up while fighting anyone who tries to raise them at international legal and judicial levels.
This matter has nothing to do with so-called “sovereign rights” of states. Rather, it stems from an arrogance of power and a hostility toward states, institutions, political and social figures — simply for expressing views that do not align with Israeli positions. This confirms that the Zionist narrative is beginning to collapse in many Western countries, as a result of the rivers of blood spilled by Israel in Gaza. Because of this, some countries have started to take positions that come a bit closer to the boundaries of international law and human values — values increasingly exhausted by Israel’s practices, not only against the Palestinian people, but against humanity itself. What Israel has done in a single year surpasses what many countries have done over decades.
The offensive practices some Western citizens are now experiencing at the hands of Israel are a natural result of the policies of those very countries — policies that have supported Zionist fascism at all levels: military, financial, economic, and diplomatic. They have provided Israel with all means of survival and continuity. Consequently, the measures Israel is taking against foreign critics reveal its true face — that of a terrorist entity that does not respect democracy, human rights, or freedom of speech and expression. Thus, the notion of “democratic Israel” has become an empty phrase, devoid of any real substance.
Israel’s hostility — through its various institutions — toward international organizations and officials, and its accusations against some of them of “terrorism,” highlight the depth of the crisis the occupation is facing and its failure to promote its narrative based on lies. This comes in light of growing official and popular support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, and the increasing repulsion of global public opinion toward Israel and its practices — first against the Palestinian people, and second in its international relations.
Because Israel controls entry and exit from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, it works to isolate these two occupied areas from the world, by preventing any individual or organization from entering them and witnessing firsthand what Israel, its army, and its settlers are doing — practices that all amount to war crimes. For this reason, everyone working in the field of media and journalism, for example, becomes an easy target. More than 210 journalists have been martyred while performing their professional duty to convey Israel’s crimes to the world
