DFLP: Facts have proven that the American-Israeli threat to Arab interests is no less than the threat to our national cause

In an open letter to the Arab Summit

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued an open letter to the emergency Arab summit, which will be held tomorrow in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in which it confirmed that the overwhelming facts have proven beyond any doubt that the danger of American-Israeli ambitions for Arab interests is no less than the danger itself for the Palestinian national cause.

The Democratic Front said: The policy of Israeli ambitions on Arab land, with the support of the United States, has become blatant, and defies the Arab will with all impudence. In Lebanon, for alleged security reasons, and with blatant interference in Lebanese affairs, Israel is working to expand its borders with southern Lebanon, with aggressive measures that it is betting on turning into a fait accompli.

The Democratic Front said: In the same context, and with clear security allegations, the occupying state began to interfere in Syrian affairs, trying to claim that it is the protector of some components of Syrian society (which is a mere claim with no basis in truth). Israel’s hostility towards Syria and all its components is revealed by the facts, and the occupying state is working, for colonial purposes, to expand the areas of its occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan Heights, reaching Mount Hermon, and close to the capital Damascus, and in geographical directions in the south, carrying clear colonial messages.

The Democratic Front added: As for Palestine, the occupation policy does not stop its aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip, through siege and starvation, and threats to return to war, and in the West Bank by destroying camps or cities in the northern West Bank, emptying the region of its residents and turning them into displaced refugees in their homeland.

The Democratic Front noted how the Trump administration and the Netanyahu government agreed to displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip (the displacement process has already begun in the West Bank), and to flood Egypt and Jordan, and perhaps Syria and Lebanon, with millions of new Palestinian refugees, without any consideration for the legitimate national rights of our Palestinian people to live freely in their homeland, or any consideration for the sovereignty of the Arab countries threatened by being flooded with refugees on their land.

The Democratic Front called on the leaders of the Arab countries who will meet in Cairo tomorrow to take effective and binding decisions that will protect the interests of our Arab peoples, including the interests of our Palestinian people, and ward off American-Israeli dangers, which requires in this context:

• Launching an Arab-international project to rebuild the Gaza Strip in accordance with the Egyptian plan, and establishing successful and binding mechanisms to provide the necessary budgets for this, in a way that restores life to the Strip and blocks the path to Israeli-American displacement and ethnic cleansing projects.

• Suspending all relations with Israel, withdrawing Arab ambassadors from Tel Aviv, and asking Israeli ambassadors to leave Arab capitals.

• Halting all forms of Arab talks and consultations with Israel and the United States related to normalizing Arab-Israeli relations until Israel withdraws completely from the occupied Arab territories in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank (with Jerusalem at its heart), Syria and Lebanon, and the establishment of an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, on the borders of June 4, 1967, and a just solution to the refugee issue in accordance with Resolution 194, which guarantees them the right to return to their homes and properties from which they were displaced since 1948.

The Democratic Front called for strengthening Arab cooperation and openness to regional and international parties concerned with the conditions of our region and our legitimate national rights, such as Turkey, Iran, the BRICS countries, Russia and China, considering them friendly countries to our peoples, whose economic and political interests converge with the interests of our peoples in confronting the Israeli-American dangers.

The Democratic Front also called for continuing to work to bring the lawsuits in international courts against the occupying state and its political and military leadership to their necessary conclusions, in a way that serves international justice and elevates the status of international charters and laws.

The Democratic Front concluded by stressing that the eyes of our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the entire Arab region, are looking forward to practical and binding results from the Arab Summit, in a way that preserves the dignity and national sovereignty of our Arab peoples and their countries
