On the anniversary of the passing of the great leader Yasser Arafat

On the anniversary of the passing of the great national leader, and one of the most important symbols of the Palestinian revolution, and its historical men, the martyr President Yasser Arafat on 11 / 11 / 2004 the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a statement in which it said: The great martyr devoted his entire life to his people, his cause, and his revolution, and rejected humiliation and degradation, and remained steadfast, defending his national dignity and the dignity of his people, steadfast behind the fascist siege of the occupying state, until the last moment, and he issued his call that became an icon in the history of Palestine: “They want me to be an outcast, or humiliated, or a prisoner, but I tell them I will be nothing but a martyr… a martyr… a martyr.”
The Democratic Front added: The great leader, the martyr President Arafat, left his people a very rich and abundant national legacy, full of the struggle meanings expressed by our people in the Gaza Strip, in the West Bank, and in the heart of Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine, refusing to surrender to the Zionist project, or raise the white flag for projects of ethnic cleansing, plundering the land, annexing it, and destroying the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty and Jerusalem as its capital, in favor of the establishment of what is called “the Greater State of Israel.”
The Democratic Front concluded: President Arafat triumphed over the occupation, when his statement was true in his rejection of humiliation, degradation, and the squandering of his national dignity and the dignity of our people. And here are our people, with their valiant resistance and legendary steadfastness, who also reject humiliation and degradation, clinging to their land and national dignity, until the Israeli enemy departs humiliated… humiliated… humiliated from our holy land. ■
