The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine called on General Brad Cooper, commander of the US Joint Forces in the Central Region and commander of the stabilization forces in the Gaza Strip, to assume his responsibilities fully, without any political bias, including implementing what has not yet been accomplished from the first phase of the Gaza agreement. This requires opening the Rafah crossing and all crossings completely, in both directions, and the unconditional flow of humanitarian aid into the Strip, primarily shelter materials such as prefabricated houses, winter clothing, woolen blankets, mattresses, and home heating equipment. It also requires rebuilding the minimum health system in the safe phase, repairing the sewage infrastructure, rehabilitating drinking water wells, and ensuring, at the same time, that the occupation forces do not obstruct movement at the crossings through checkpoints that would disrupt the movement of our people and subject them to oppressive security measures, while these fascist forces must withdraw from the Strip to the separation border with the settlements surrounding Gaza.
The Democratic Front said: Despite the announcement that the Gaza agreement has entered its second phase, our people have not experienced any benefit from the implementation of the first phase. The suffering and hardship of life remain the same, whether it be killing at the hands of the occupation forces or being displaced in the open under the winter rains and cold, which has claimed the lives of at least 10 children who froze in their mothers› arms from the cold, due to the lack of shelter, heating, and winter clothes.
In conclusion, the Democratic Front affirmed that our people view the Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of Gaza Affairs with relative optimism, and expect it to assume its responsibilities in inaugurating the recovery phase, at a time when it is welcomed by all forces and civil society organizations
