The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine welcomed the announcement of the formation of a technocratic body to manage the Gaza Strip in the second phase of the Trump plan, considering it also as an announcement of the practical transition to the second phase, in order to end the Israeli occupation of what remains of the Gaza Strip, open the Rafah crossing, and allow unconditional aid into the Strip, including necessary shelter, to protect our people from the climatic fluctuations in the winter.
The Democratic Front also considered that this step would initiate steps towards recovery and reduce the tragic conditions suffered by our people in the Strip, including the aggressive actions of the occupation forces and their constant violation of the ceasefire and cessation of hostilities agreement.
The Democratic Front stressed the necessity of a relationship between the Gaza Strip administration and the Palestinian government, in a way that preserves the unity of the lands of the State of Palestine, establishes an international path leading to the establishment of a fully sovereign independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, and cuts off all manifestations of Palestinian division and fragmentation, and alternative projects to the Palestinian national project.
The Democratic Front expressed our people’s gratitude to our brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt, headed by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, for the role played by Cairo, along with the State of Qatar and Turkey, in sponsoring the steps to move to the second phase, and opening up prospects towards national salvation.
In the same context, the Democratic Front affirmed our people›s confidence that Cairo will continue its efforts to convene an international conference to provide the necessary conditions and funds for launching the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, thereby strengthening our people›s steadfastness on their land and their attachment to it, and restoring life, security, and stability to the Gaza Strip, an integral part of the fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state.
