The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine strongly condemned the blatant American aggression against Venezuela, and saw it as an invitation to sow chaos and ignite the flames of unrest and wars in the world, and to fire the coup de grâce at relations between peoples based on respect for the principles of international law, the sovereignty of peoples over their lands, and their right to self-determination.
The Democratic Front said: The brazen American piracy in kidnapping the legitimate president of Venezuela, along with his wife, and transferring him to the United States, under the pretext of trying him for crimes against the United States, is a very dangerous precedent that threatens to move the world into an era in which power and counter-power become the means of communication between countries, governments and peoples, which elevates the status of colonial countries and takes us back decades instead of progressing towards stability, security and prosperity.
The Democratic Front said: The United States’ claims and pretexts, which it launched to justify its aggressive action, were contradicted by President Trump’s statements a few hours after the crime, when he announced the restructuring of the political system in Venezuela and the legalization of seizing the country’s oil wealth for the benefit of American companies, in the context of a clear and explicit implementation of the American national security strategy, which he announced weeks ago, in which he announced his plans and projects to seize Latin America and its wealth and enslave its people, under false pretenses of combating drugs, at a time when his country, America, produces many types of drugs that are openly distributed in the markets.
The Democratic Front said: The people of Venezuela are not an orphaned people, and the kidnapping of their legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro, is not the end of the road. Rather, they are a living people, with their history of struggle and their patriotic men, and they know how to confront aggression, how to preserve the unity of their territory and its independence, and how to protect their country’s wealth from organized colonial plunder.
The Democratic Front warned of the danger of the threats Trump made against socialist Cuba, as a prelude to further acts of aggression in the Americas. It emphasized that Trump›s continued intransigence and insistence on waging his declared war against the peoples and their legitimate leaders, and plundering their resources, foreshadows a highly dangerous phase, for which the United States alone bears responsibility for the dire consequences.
