In a statement, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in cooperation with the International Criminal Court, to form a team of specialists and experts, and to provide the necessary tools and supplies, to investigate the circumstances of the death of Palestinian prisoners who were in Israeli custody and handed over in recent days to the Palestinian side in the Gaza Strip. Reports confirm the emergence of bruises from brutal torture and random executions by bullets and hanging, clearly on the bodies of the martyrs, in addition to their random handover without records confirming the identity of each of them, which demonstrates the extent of Israel’s disregard for the exchange process, and the extent of its respect for the martyrs of our people and its humiliation of them even when they are dead.
The Democratic Front stated that the crimes committed by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip against Palestinian prisoners, leading to their deaths, must not go unpunished. The international community, represented by the UN Secretary-General and the International Criminal Court, must assume legal and moral responsibility for Palestinian human rights, including holding accountable those who perpetrated the crime within the Israeli leadership, both politicians and military.
The Democratic Front also called on Palestinian, Arab and free human rights activists around the world to adopt this issue, as it has implications that confirm the legitimacy of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to live a dignified life on their homeland, against the daily threat of the Zionist danger.
